    Description

Up for auction a set of four (4) hand painted, terra cotta tiles.  Research leads me to believe these could be talevera, a tin-enameled earthenware, majolica style used in terra cotta folk art pottery made in Mexico.  The tiles are unmarked, and I believe unused.
These tiles measure about 4" square and between 1/2" to 3/8" thick.  The combined weight is 1.6 pounds prior to packing for shipping.
These pieces are in good used condition without cracks or repairs.  The base ivory glaze is uneven, there are bubbles in the black/brown outlines and the tiles are not all flat.  There are also some flea bites, flakes on upper and lower edges and some crazing in the ivory glaze.
Thank you for looking.  Happy to combine shipping.
