    OAXACA WOOD CARVING

    WONDERFUL WORK IN AN ECONOMICAL PIECE!
    What an adorable little turtle! Perfect for any turtle lover or Oaxacan wood carving lovers. This little guy was hand carved out of the traditional Copal wood and then hand painted by Roberta Angeles, who is the sister to master carver Jacobo Angeles. Talent truly runs in this family!  It has been a true pleasure to get to know Roberta Angeles. She takes great pride in her work, and crafts many delightful and whimsical animal figures. We are consistently drawn to her high quality craftsmanship, and her use of cheerful floral patterns. She can often be found presenting her work at museums here in the U.S., including the Autry in Los Angeles, the Heard in Phoenix and the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. There are no removable parts and the turtle is signed by the artist.
