    Description

    Owls are one of my favorite birds to find, both in nature and in Oaxacan wood carvings.
    This owl alebrije is a beauty.
    It is intricately painted in different geometric designs with rich hues of blues and
    greens, accented with shades of burgundy, burnt orange, and deep purple.
    Hand-carved and painted by the Hernandez-Melchor Workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico

    in small workshops in several towns on the outskirts of Oaxaca, Mexico. They are often prized
