    Description

ADORABLE SMALL HORNED OWL OAXACA WOOD CARVING
BY THE HIGHLY TALENTED ARTIST JOSE OLIVERA PEREZ
WONDERFUL WORK IN AN ECONOMICAL PIECE!
A great carving for any owl lover out there. This horned owl is done with a yellow floral and pink and orange spotted pattern, that contrasts nicely with the gorgeous deep dark brown background. So cute! The artist is Jose Olivera Perez, a cousin of the Master Woodcarver Jacobo Angeles. Jose is a true artist in his own right, with his own distinct style. His house is located on the outskirts of the village, and in this location he is much closer to nature. You can see the inspiration of his surroundings in his work. It is rare to see such a sense of movement and detail in the carving of an economical piece, but you can really see Jose's carving skill in the horns that extend outward from the top of the owl, the large owls and the tail feathers. There are no removable parts, and the piece is signed by the artist.
