    La Catrina was originally created by Jose Posada and later named and painted by Diego Rivera, the famous Mexican painter who was married to Frida Khalo, in one of his murals. It become and iconic figure in Mexican culture representing death and the way Mexican face it. Mexican celebrate the Day of the death as the day of their ancestor come back to visit their families from the afterlife.
